Description

Don’t miss the chance to spend an unforgettabe day in the region of Tuscany and visit one of the most famous cities in the world: Florence.

The most comfortable and easiest way to reach Florence is by fast train. Among all day trips from Rome, this is the most time effective one. Once you get to the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence, walking through the streets of the city center, you will reach the Cattedrale Santa Maria del Fiore, also called the Duomo, still the largest masonry dome in the world. By the duomo you will meet your guide. The tour includes the Duomo, the Baptistery, and the Bell Tower (from the outside only). Leaving the area of the Duomo, the walking tour continues with Palazzo Vecchio and the visit of one of the most prestigious and important museums in the world: the Uffizi Gallery. Here you will have the opportunity to admire masterpieces of many great artists: Cimabue, Giotto, Botticelli and, last but not least, the great Michelangelo.

After the visit of the museum, the guide will take you to Piazza Santa Croce, which has been, since the Renaissance and until recent times, the ideal location for celebrations, festivals, horse races and shows. This is also a perfect place to enjoy a typical Italian meal. After lunch, there will be time for shopping or further exploration of the nearby area before taking the train back to Rome at 5:00 p.m (arrival at the point of departure around 7:30 p.m.).
