Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast

You are really going to really enjoy this day trip from Rome. From the ethernal city, you will reach Pompeii and visit its archaeological area. Then you will go on sightseeing along the Amalfi Coast… and much more.

Once in Pompeii, after meeting your authorized guide, you will discover a unique site: a perfectly preserved Roman town and interesting witnesses of how the Ancient Romans lived before the 79 A.D. eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Everything remained intact underneath the ashes until the 18th century. You will visit the Forum, the thermal baths, the food market, rich and upper middle-class houses, the theater as well as many other ruins. The guide will explain the history, the architecture, the art, the culture and everyday life of this wealthy and lively town before the eruption buried it and its citizens under tons of ash.

From Pompeii you will head towards the Amalfi Coast. The first stop will be in Positano which, due to its mild climate and its beautiful landscape, has been a resort town since the age of Roman Empire. Positano is the perfect location to have a traditional lunch while watching a breathtaking scene. After lunch, you will enjoy a nice walk through the village and go down its famous stairway to reach the beach. Then you will go to Amalfi, the old Maritime Republic which gives the name to the coast.

After the guide has explained the most important attractions, you be given free time to enjoy, on your own, the view of this enchanting place. Later you will stop in Ravello, for a short visit of the main attractions. Departure for Rome will be around 5:30 p.m.
